Mangaluru: Three arrested for robbing home-alone woman

Mangaluru, Sep 16: CCB police of the city arrested three men accused of barging into the house of home alone woman at Ashwathapura of Moodbidri and looting gold ornaments.

The arrested accused are Dinesh Poojary (36), Sukesh Poojary (32) and Harish Poojary (34). Gold ornaments weighing 62 grams, two scooters, three mobile phone, one sword, two monkey caps are confiscated from the arrested. The total value of the confiscated goods is Rs 4.5 lac.

The accused had entered the house of lone woman Kamala on August 30 night wearing monkey caps and hand gloves and threatened her with sword. They assaulted the woman and took her mangalasutra chain and two gold bangles.

The accused trio knew that Kamala lives alone and no one will file a complaint if they loot her. In addition, one of the accused acted to help her after the act in the following days to misguide the police.

A case was filed in this connection in Moodbidri police station. A case of arecanut theft is already filed on the arrested trio in Moodbidri police station. Sukesh has POCSO case in the same police station and an attempted murder case at Manipal police station.
