CBI arrests Banaras Locomotive Works engineer for bribery


New Delhi, Sep 16 (IANS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested a senior civil engineer at the Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3 lakh.

A senior CBI official said that a case was registered on a complaint against the engineer, Om Prakash Sonkar, for demanding Rs 3 lakh from the complainant for passing his bills.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe.

"Searches were conducted at the residential premises of the accused which has led to the recovery of incriminating documents," said the official.
