Beltangady, Sep 17: A youth, rider of two wheeler, died as his vehicle was hit by an Eicher truck near Pilya Masjid under Venur police station limits.
The deceased is identified as Praveen Acharya (26), local resident and mechanic by profession.
Praveen was going back home after finishing his work at Aladangadi. Praveen died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. The truck driver tried to escape with the truck. But he was waylaid near Katte by locals and handed over to the police.
Venur police have registered a case in this regard.
