Sep 17: Dakshina Kannada reports eight Covid cases, seven infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 17: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, September 17, reported eight new coronavirus cases while seven cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,934, out of which 62 are currently active. As many as 3 patients were discharged on September 17.

No deaths were reported on September 17. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.92 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Seven coronavirus cases were reported on September 17. The total active Covid cases are 39.

A total of 10,90,645 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,014 have received both doses and 2,75,029 people have received booster doses.

Udupi taluk reported five cases while one infection was from Karkala and Kundapura taluk. Six cases reported were symptomatic and one Asymptomatic.
