Mangalore : Guhanthara, Eco Tourism Project Eyes Coastal Region

Mangalore, Apr 23: As the younger generation is losing a feel for what natural living is, at the same time, there has been a lot of concern and activity going on as far as conservation of nature is concerned. Keeping this in mind, ‘Guhanthara’ (cave resort) aims at preserving nature by adopting the concept of eco tourism, informed S N Ramesh, managing director of Rashi Eco Tourism at a press meet held at Lobo's River View on Saturday April 23.
The ace project ‘Guhanthara’ is an underground cave resort located on the Kanakapura Road ideally near Bangalore. It is a clearly defined eco-concept or green resort spread over nearly 3.5 acres, besides sports complex at 4-acre plot. It has 20 rooms, and also auditorium wherein 400 people can be accommodated.
The resort has also bagged ‘Best Project in Bangalore’ instituted by Accommodation Times. The project has also facilities like dirt track cycling, horse riding, rock climbing, and many other adventure sports, as well as a DJ, dance floor, conference hall, spa, swimming pool, multi-cuisine restaurant with bar.
Guhantara offers several attractive packages to choose from. The holidays packages can be customized extensively, especially with the corporates as well as domestic, with them being able to pick from the large repertoire of folk arts and artistes.
Adding further Ramesh said that their next project is to take up such project in the beautiful locales of coastal regions of Karnataka which he claims less explored in tourism sector. Eco tourism concept would prove advantageous for coastal region, he said and added their project adheres to CRZ rule and also eco-friendly.
