Mangaluru, Sep 18: Ullal police have arrested a notorious rowdy-sheeter and seven others in an attempt to murder case involving a fish merchant on K C Road in Ajjinadka of Ullal police limits.
The accused who has been arrested is Talat (35), a resident of Phinalnagar.
Recently, the accused Aachi, Noufal, Ashpak, Nisaak, Rifat Ali and Rahim were arrested.
On May 26, Talat and seven others tried to kill fish merchant Arif, a resident of Kudroli and now residing on K C Road in Ajjinadka with a sword. Eleven cases have been registered against Arif with Kankanady, Mangaluru port police who was subjected to an attack. Arif, who is also a rowdy-sheeter was involved in a money transaction pertaining to the fish trade, police sources said.
Talat is a prime accused in a double murder case in Farangipete and his associate Noufal alias Toppi Noufal is also an accused in the double murder case.
Noufal's uncle Arif was subjected to an attack concerning a financial transaction of Rs 68,000. When Noufal had asked for the money over phone, it had resulted in a verbal duel between the two. Seven persons including Talat and Noufal got involved in an attempt to murder him due to this reason.
Cases of attempt to murder and many robbery and theft cases are registered in Talat's name and he is a notorious rowdy in Mangaluru commissionerate limits.
