Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 18: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, September 18, reported 14 new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,948, out of which 65 are currently active. As many as 11 patients were discharged on September 18.
No deaths were reported on September 18. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.73 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Five coronavirus cases were reported on September 18. The total active Covid cases are 37.
A total of 10,90,646 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,026 have received both doses and 2,75,346 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported two cases while three infections were from Kundapura taluk. All five cases reported were symptomatic.
