Mangalore: Fund Raiser Musical Orchestra ‘Sur Sangam’ Enthralls Audience

Mangalore, Apr 24: ‘Sur Sangam’ a musical orchestra organized by members of Mangalore Friends to help the HIV-affected children of Cardts Samvedana Organization, was held at Town Hall on Saturday April 24 at 6.00 pm.

The event was a blend of Kannada, Tulu, and Hindi songs sung by famous singers.

Members of Mangalore Friends who visited Cardts recently and saw the plight of HIV-affected children there had decided to raise funds for their food and medical expenditure through the medium of music.

A large number of people turned up for the musical orchestra which was a tuneful and pleasant experience for the audience.

Entry for the programme was free. State award winning singer Rameshchandra and ‘Junior Lata Mangeshkar’ Meghana Bangalore, Anitha Samson, and Arun Bangalore among other local singers performed that day.

‘Ellellu sangeethave’ (Kannada), ‘Yeh jo mohabbath hai’ (Hindi), and ‘Ee bhoomi bannada bugari’ (Kannada), were among some of the meaningful songs sung which made the audience contemplate the various aspects of life.

Speaking on the occasion, district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar said that human life will be meaningful only when we partake in the pain of others and help them whatever way we could.

Karavali Group chairman Ganesh Rao, Corporation Bank general manager B R Bhat, former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, and Daijiworld photo journalist Dayanand Kukkaje were present at the formal programme organized on the occasion.
