Udupi: Inter-state thieves arrested for stealing parked truck's tyres

Udupi, Sep 19: Byndoor police arrested three people in connection with the theft of five tyres from a truck that was parked near Shiroor toll gate three days ago.

The arrested accused are identified as Shyam Shankar (24), Akash Bappa Shinde (19) and Amool Ram Kale (22). All are natives of Maharashtra.

The accused had sprayed some chemical on the driver and made him fall unconscious and stole five new tyres of the truck.

The driver of the truck Purushotham, native of Ankola, had parked the new truck near Shiroor toll gate in order to take rest. The accused stole the tyres after spraying chemical on him. The whole act was caught on CCTV.

Byndoor police arrested the accused near Ottinene on NH 66 and confiscated five tyres worth Rs 1.85 lac and a Leyland truck which the accused used in the act.
