Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 24: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, September 24, reported four new coronavirus cases while two cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,999 out of which 53 are currently active. As many as three patients were discharged on September 24.

No deaths were reported on September 24. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.47% percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Two coronavirus cases were reported on September 24. The total active Covid cases are 26.

A total of 10,90,698 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,196 have received both doses and 2,84,025 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported two cases, while no cases were registered in Kundapur and Karkala.
