VHP to Oppose Move for Govt Takeover of Sathya Sai Trust


Indore, Apr 25 (PTI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) here today said that it will oppose any move by the government to acquire the Sathya Sai Central Trust following the death of Godman Sathya Sai Baba.

"If the government makes any attempt to take over the Sathya Sai Central Trust, estimated around over Rs 40,000 crore then the VHP will strongly oppose it," VHP's International General Secretary, Praveen Togadia told reporters.

Togadia said that the government had control (through regulations) over one lakh temples which have property worth over Rs one lakh crore, but till date it has not shown the courage to regulate any church or a mosque.
