Mangalore, Apr 26: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and Karnataka Pranta Raita Sangha (KPRS) jointly staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office on Tuesday April 26, to urge the district administration to fulfill various demands of the farmers. The protesters urged the administration to provide housing sites, title deeds to all the poor landless families.

Addressing the protestors, KPRS district president K R Shriyan said that one of the major demands of the protestors is disposing of all housing site related pending application forms. There are 48,000 landless families and 17,000 families without title deeds in the district. The state government in its election manifesto had assured to provide houses to two lakh homeless families in the state. Keep aside 2 lac houses, the government has not even provided homes to the flood victims,” he alleged. He urged that panchayat, township and municipality must earmark housing sites for poor people immediately.

As many as 7,000 applications through DYFI have been submitted by the public seeking for the site and nearly 4,000 application forms have been submitted through KPRS. The rest of the applications were also submitted to the DC.

Farmers in large numbers took part in the protest. The protest rally was held from Town Hall earlier. K Yadav Shetty, chief secretary and Munir Katipalla, vice president of DYFI were present.

DO NOT TRY TO PRAISE YOUR KERALA.

IN KERALA ALL INDUSTRIALIST CLOSED DOWN THEIR OPERATION DUE TO STRIKES BY KERALITE.

I HAD BEEN TO KERALA & SAW THE REAL FACT.

IN ANY INDUSTRY IF NO. OF EMPLOYEE IS MORE THAN ONE, UNION WILL BE FORMED. ( FOR UNION MINIMUM TWO EMPLOYEE REQUIRED).

THAT UNION WILL FIGHT TILL THE CLOSURE OF FACTIRY/INDUSTRY.

Farmers are the backbone of the country and they are the one most neglected in our Nation. They feed millions with their hard work and themselves always live in poverty. They are poor and uneducated so their voice does not reach anywhere. They deserve the best.

Impressive show of strength by DYFI and KRRS.Over the year’s decline of the left party’s strength has shown rise of communal forces in undivided South Kanara.
People like Nagesh are exploiting the sentiments of illiterate youths to meet their means, and engaging them in anti social activities. The people like him are completely responsible for the violence and anti social activities in Mangalore including recent attacks against the peace loving, charity based,Christian orphanages.

So to counter this kind of menace what we need is a strong, value based left movement which is already well established in Kerala.

    Nagesh Nayak,

What is your criteria do you judge that these people are unemployed ? Do you also apply the formula to BD/SRS goons too ?

Nevertheless, if Yeddy had given the plots he promised to WC Winning team members to these people, he would have had more admirers in the state beside you.

NO FARMERS ARE PRESENT IN THE RALLY.

ALL UNEDUCATED & UNEMPLOYED GET TOGETHER.

LET THEM DO SOME CONSTRUCTIVE WORK TO HELP REAL FARMERS.
