Sullia: Student dies on spot in motorcycle-auto-rickshaw collision

Sullia, Sep 27: An ITI student died as the motorcycle which he was riding collided with an auto-rickshaw on Mani-Mysuru highway near Parivarakana of Aletty village on Monday September 26.

The deceased is identified as Prateek (22), son of Tejeshwar, resident of Kudurepaya of Chembu village. Prateek was arriving from Kallugundi to Sullia along with Tejas and hit the auto-rickshaw at a curve at Parivarakana.

A seriously injured Prateek died on the spot while Tejas received severe injuries. He was taken to a hospital at Mangaluru. Tejas is the son of Nithyananda, resident of Guthigaru. He was working in a bakery at Sullia and studying ITI.

Sullia police have registered a case.

    So sad. Now a days almost everyday we hear death of youngsters in two wheeler accidents. Is it because of rash driving ? , poor road condition ? , no fear of law ? , influence of drugs ? , more powerful bikes ? ,not using helmets ??? We are loosing valuable lives in road accidents.
