Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 27: Police detained Popular Front of India (PFI) leaders in Mangaluru and Udupi on Tuesday, September 27.
Police detained PFI leaders from Ullal, Mangaluru, Talapady and district limits. Preventive Detention cases were filed under 107, 151 Crpc against the detained leaders.
As many as 10 persons were detained in Mangaluru City Police limits.
Mohammed Sharif from Pandeshwar, Muzair and Mohammed Naufal from Kudroli, Shabeer Ahmed from Talapady, Nawaz from Ullal, Mohammed Iqbal from Ulaibettu, Dawood Naushad from Chokkabettu, Nazir and Ismail Engineer from Kinnipadav and Ibrahim from Moodabidiri.

In the district limits four persons, Raziq and Firoz from B Mooda, Eijaz Ahmed and Jabir from Ariyadka were taken into custody.
Meanwhile, police personnel conducted raids on PFI leaders’ houses in Udupi on Tuesday.
Four PFI leaders were detained by the police. As per the sources the raid was conducted in Hoode, Gangolli, Byndoor and Adi Udupi.
Ilyas Hoode, Ashik Koteshwar, Rajab Gangolli and Ashraf from Adi Udupi have been detained by police, said sources.
