Mangalorean Bradly D'Souza Wins Accolades for Volunteer Service in USA

Daijiworld Media Network - Cincinnati

Cincinnati (USA), Apr 27: Mangalorean boy Bradly Ivan D'Souza is no ordinary achiever. All of 15 years, Bradly, a student of Sycamore High School, Cincinnati, has won accolades aplenty for his selfless volunteer service to the community and for his academic and leadership skills.

Born to Harold and Dancy D'Souza, Bradly Ivan D'Souza hails from Bajpe, Managalore. He holds the distinction of being nominated for the 'Daily Points of Light Awards' initiated by senior President Bush, which recognizes individuals and groups who address key needs in their community through volunteer service.

He has also received the 2010 President's Volunteer Service Award, with a 'Gold Pin' with an accompanying letter from President Barack Obama. This is the second time in a row that Bradly has received this award.

Recently, he attended a 6-day National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) at Washington DC, which was a life-changing experience for him.

That is not all. For Bradly's academic achievement and leadership potential, he has been invited to represent Sycamore High School at the 2011 National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC), from Chicago. Bradly will  attend the Conference on "Mastering Leadership" at University of California Berkeley, from June 20 to June 25 at San Francisco, California.

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), from Atlanta, Georgia nominated Bradly on April 15 for his outstanding academic achievement at Sycamore High School.

Bradly has also been nominated from "Ayusa" and will be attending a 12-day conference on "International Business" at Geneva, Switzerland from July 30 to August 10, 2011. He will meet face to face with senior managers of multinational corporations like Nestle, Swatch, and Evian and discuss their business strategies. Bradly will also be visiting some of the most popular sites in and around Europe's most international city.

Bradly has been nominated from his school and will be representing the Sycamore High School for the "Regional Youth Leadership 2011/2012". RYL class members meet one day a month from August 2011 to March 2012. The class normally consists of approximately 45-50 students from Ohio and Kentucky states. The programme is unique in that it involves students from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, breaking down social and political barriers across the states. It is their goal to inspire these students to develop a life dedicated to selfless volunteerism, leadership and responsible citizenship. Students are motivated and empowered to make a positive difference in their communities.

Bradly Ivan D'Souza also holds the unique record for dedicating 914:22 hours for voluntary service since 2008:

        2008     :    243:15 hours
        2009     :    302:07 hours
        2010     :    306:30 hours
        2011     :    62:30 hours (till April 24, 2011)
        Total     :    914:22

Since November 2010, he has appeared in over nine newspaper and magazines in India and the USA.
