Dubai, Apr 28: The excitement surrounding Friday's much-anticipated event 'Daiji Darbar', has gone a notch or two higher, with all the participating artistes arriving in Dubai from Mumbai and Mangalore.

The high-energy entertainment show at Indian High School's Sheikh Rashid Auditorium is expected to be a full-house affair, as there has been a great demand for tickets from around the UAE.

Leading senior artistes Henry D'Souza and Nephie Rod were the first to react on the show, and said, "From a long time we have been waiting to perform in Dubai, and we want to render our best performance with popular numbers."

Henry, popularly known as 'Katrina Henry' says, "Every time I visit Dubai, I feel at home. Konkani music lovers in this part of the world are just amazing, they always ask for more, and it will be my pleasure to give them the best." He will also receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from Daiji Dubai, the forum for Konkani Writers in the Emirates, the organizers of the event.

Nephie Rod Pradhan is as popular among Mangalorean audience as she is among Goan music lovers, having presented a number of shows for Mangalorean audience in Mumbai, Mangalore, Dubai and other parts of the world.

"I performed here in Dubai at Al Nasr Leasureland Ice Rink a few years back, but performing at a sound-proof auditorium will be a great experience, and I will give my cent percent for the show" says Nephie, who has also rendered her voice for the Bollywood industry.

Other than Henry and Nephie, young Antony Tauro from Mumbai and Munita Veigas from Mangalore will be performing some foot-tapping numbers. Both the artistes are on their first professional visit to Dubai, and are determinded to carve their identity here. In fact, this is their first-ever performance outside India.

Kenny, who does not need introduction for his unique style has performed many times in Dubai as well as in Abu Dhabi. A couple of news songs from Kenny will be an added attraction.

Comedy shows will be taken care of by two of the best comedy artistes from Mangalore, Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph Pinto. They proved their ability in Dubai with their performance during the Daiji Dubai 2010 event. They are here again on public demand.
