Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 29: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, September 29, reported two new coronavirus cases while 12 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,023 out of which 28 are currently active. As many as four patients were discharged on September 29.

No deaths were reported on September 29. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.37 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

12 coronavirus cases were reported on September 29.The total active Covid cases are 30.

A total of 10,90,733 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,354 have received both doses and 2,89,371 people have received booster doses.

Udupi registered five cases while Kundapur registered six and Karkala added one case.
