Dubai: Stan Ageira to Lead Daijiworld Middle East FZE

Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai

Dubai, Apr 28 : Daijiworld.com, the rapidly growing webportal connecting people of the west coast of India and the world, has achieved another milestone in its 10-year journey in the field of internet media.

Daijiworld, which completed ten glorious years in the month of January 2011 has set up its first overseas office in Dubai under the name 'Daijiworld Middle East FZE'.

Though the office has been operational since January 1, 2011, it will be officially launched on Friday April 29 during 'Daiji Dubai' Konkani Writers Forum's 12th anniversary function at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai.

In a brief ceremony, the office will be symbolically launched by NRI entrepenuer Ronald Colaco.

Sudhir Shetty, COO of UAE Exchange and Herman Lewis, CEO of 105.4 FM Radio Spice will be the guests of honour.

Stan Ageira, well-known for his Konkani short stories and novels worldwide, who is also popular among Daijiworld.com readers for his English short stories column 'Red Chillies', will lead the Middle East operation as franchise owner. He is primarlity responsible for all the commercial activities within Middle East countries.

Daijiworld's main office is based in Emporium Complex, Kankanady, Mangalore, with over 35 full-time newsdesk correspondents, reporters and support staff across the twin districts. There are also about 60 freelancers around the country.

Daijiworld also has another franchise office based in Udupi under the leadership of Kishoo Barkur, operational since July 2008.

With an estimated readership of about 3,00,000 from around the world, Daijiworld has been rated as one of the fastest growing Indian portal worldwide. The website inaugurated by Ronald Colaco on Jan 11, 2001 had its first office in Mangalore in March 2004. Later, the solely-owned portal by Walter Nandalike became a Private Limited Company with Rohan Monteiro, Victor D'Souza, Lawrence D'Souza and Melvyn Rodrigues as its directors.

In February 2009, a new era in coastal journalism started with the introdution of 'Daijiworld Weekly', the first English language weekly print magazine in Karnataka. Daijiworld Weekly has achieved tremendous growth and recently completed two glorius years, under the editorialship of Hemacharya. The Weekly has a dedicated office in Bendurwell, Mangalore.

Soon, there will be representative offices of Daijiworld in Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore.

The ball is also set to roll for Daijiworld's dream project of Kannada satellite TV channel, with uplinking from Mangalore. The project will enable Kannadigas worldwide to connect back on real time with the latest news, information and entertainment right in their homes.
