Mangalore: Fr William Menezes, Bishop House PRO Celebrates Silver Jubilee of Priesthood

Mangalore, Apr 28: Fr William Menezes, public relations officer of Bishop’s house celebrated the silver jubilee of his priesthood, here on Thursday April 28.

Fr William celebrated the Eucharistic Mass along with Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore, Bishop Dr Henry D’Souza of Bellary, Bishop Dr Robert Miranda of Gulbarga, and nearly 50 priests here on Thursday morning.

Father Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues in his homily stressed on the need for more vocations and what it meant to complete a milestone in sacerdotal duties.

Udupi deanery e Episcopal vicar Dr Baptist Menezes felicitated Fr William along with other Bishops at the occasion.

Bishop Dr Aloysius said that Fr William had served as parish priests at the far-flung parishes - Padukone, Kolalgiri and other parishes a decade ago.  His humanitarian deeds are acknowledged by the parishioners in these parishes.

City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, conservator of forests Anita Arekal, corporator Ranganath Kini, Congress leader Ivan D’Souza and others were present at the occasion.

Fr William had also served as assistant administration of Father Muller Charitable Institutions for 7 years.

Bishop’s secretary Fr Ritesh Rodrigues welcomed the gathering.  Fr William Menezes proposed vote of thanks.

    It was indeed a very imposing ceremony with any number of priests concelebrating The Mass along with Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza,Bishop Robert Miranda and Bishop Henry D'Souza.

    Rev. Father Patrick in his homily highlighted the need for more vocations and suitably praised The Jubilarian Father Willie.

    It was good to see the elderly parents of Father Willie present on the occasion and receiving Holy Communion from the hands of their son on the auspicious occasion.

    Father William indeed has rendered yeomen service to the Diocese of Mangalore. Prior to coming to The Bishop's House as The Estates Manager and P.R.O. Father William had done a fine job as an Assistant Director at Father Muller's Charitable Institutions where he had done a commendable job.

    I join scores of people in congratulating Father William. May he live long and may Heavenly Alchemist change silver to Gold and then to Diamond.
