Mangalore, Apr 30: Sushma Swaraj, leader of opposition at the press conference here strongly condemned the attitude of DMK and Congress members with regard to their opposition to the draft report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the 2G spectrum scam.

She said that it is nothing but disrespect to the democracy. The congress government is trying to wipe out the voice raised against corruption by the opposition party and the people.  In particular she criticized Prime minister Manmohan Singh and telecom minister Kapil Sibal for rejecting the draft report of PAC.

She dismissed the allegations levelled against PAC Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi that he was responsible for the leakage of the report to the media saying it is "baseless”.

National Fishermen Conference's Valedictory

Swaraj was in city today mainly to attend the valedictory ceremony of Fishermen National Convention (West Coast.   She urged the central government to work on safe release of the imprisoned Indian fishermen as they are struggling in the jails of Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

She said as many as 267 fishermen are hostage of Pakistan jail and more than 150 are suffering in Sri Lanka jails. Thus many such fishermen of India are leading miserable life there. The joint working group which was formed to ensure the safety and security of fishermen has not been calling up any meetings; she lamented and said the group has also not come forward to hold dialogue with Pakistan.

Adding further she said that just like how agricultural loans enjoy relief on its repayment, even fishermen’ loan should be dissolved. Agriculturists get loan at 4% interest, fishermen too have to be availed the loan at the same percentage of interest, she added.

BJP state president K S Eshwarappa presided. MP Nalin Kumar, Dy speaker N Yogish Bhat, Padmanabha Kottari among others were present.

Issues like environment pollution; reduction in the catch, social and economic problems of the fishermen was discussed thoroughly in the convention to prepare a comprehensive report. The convention also focused on chalking out plans to solve the problems of the fishermen.

ISMAIL K PERINJE, PERINJE/YANBU-KSA how much ever you want comment against BJP, but it's the BJP who is still rocking in our twin districts. I think you didnot notice the APMC elections results recently. Except in one or two places BJP is leading in most of the places in our twin districts.

Ismail Perinje, Your CONgresss just fear about real fact that why they have so much fear of PAC report which shows how you spend peoples money. If you compare corruption against Yedii its just 1 %, wherein congress is having 99% corrupt politicains. Atleast Sushma visits to Karnatak because she contested election from Bellary but what about your Italian waitress, even after winning bellary seat, she gave up seat as well Bellary people. Shame on you & your congress.

Hi Langoolacharya., Belman/USA. Do not think Fishermen are poor. Your thinking is poor. They are the most independent people of India. They depend only on Mother Sea. May be from their life style you might have confused.

SUSHMA CAME TO KARNATAKA TO COLLECT HER MONTHLY INSTALMENT OF LOOTED MONEY FROM YEDDY. SHE IS GIVING A BIG SPEECH LIKE A GRAND MOTHER BLAMING CONGRESS AND JDS FOR THE MESS IN KARNATAKA WHEN HER OWN BJP PARTY CM YEDDY IS RULING SINCE 3 YEARS. SO SHAME ON THIS FOOLISH LADY SUSHMA. SHE SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN THE OPPOSITION LEADER BUT WAS FIT FOR A MUNCIPAL JOB. SHE JUST TALKS ALL RUBBISH. SHE SHOULD FIRST TAKE CARE OF HER OWN HOUSE AND ATTACK OTHERS HOUSE.

Mrs. Sushma swaraj cannot say anything about Mr. Yeddyurappa because Mr. Yeddyurappa is donating some percentage from the corrupt money to gods temples. So that the temples gods are also happy and Mr. Yeddyurappa is also happy.
Hence Mrs. Sushma Swaraj is also happy with Yeddyurappaji.

First Congress said no JPC because there is PAC. They wasted one full session of Parliament costing several hundred crores of tax payer's money Now they are caught with their pants down, they are sabotaging the PAC report
See the line up -Congress,DMK, SP, BSP All chors SP & BSP must have got a tidy sum.It seems that Congress government is just above law and order. They made an PAC, made opposition party leader as Chairman(fools) but they did put 11 members of their own team in it so always they have an edge. SP and BSP are faceless party. When whole congress party is a band baaja raja party, how can they accept the PAC report.
Having said that it doesent mean that BJP's hands are cleansed with milk. Jai HO

Susmakka what happend to PAC in the recent past is not promising and not good for democracy. But PAC or any other democratical institutions are governed by established norms under the guidence of Constitution of India.

Why PAC Chairman,Mr Murali Manohar Joshi left the meeting abruptly?Out of 21 members 11 members are against the resulution so there were majority of opinion against resolution, therefore as per the constitution of PAC it(resolution)should be called as null and void.

Mr Murali Manohar's premature exit and DMK,CONG,BSP and Mulayam Singh's party against and NDA ally in favor of resolution made PAC as mere political body!Really it is not augur well for largest living democracy country like India. So if Union oppn party Chief believes in democracy then ther could be no calms on the issue but could be foder for NDA and media to critisize ruling party UPA.

Sushma Congress is not trying to silence Opposition Voice against Corruption. First you take action against Yeddy who is full of Corruption and Looting Karnataka. It is easy to Bark Sushma. You have no right to point fingers on Congress. Congress is Governing the whole Country. Your party BJP cannot even take care of one State. So its better you set your own house BJP in order and start dictating terms to others. Murli Mannohaer Joshi was responsible for leaking the PAC report. Take action against him than blaming Congress. Have you any guts to take action ?
