Mangaluru, Oct 6: Mangaluru Dasara procession, known for its grandeur, devotion, enthusiastic activities and attractive tableaux, culminated with the immersion of idols on Thursday, October 6.
Thousands of devotees from different places thronged to the temples here and offered prayers.
The procession started on Wednesday evening. The procession was held under the guidance of former union minister B Janardhana Poojary.
The idols of Navadurga, Ganapathi, Adhishakthi, Sharadha Devi, and Bhramashree Narayana Guru were taken in a procession through Mannagudda, Narayan Guru Circle, Lalbagh, Ballalbagh, PVS Circle, K S Rao Road, Hampankatta, Ganapathi High School Road, Car Street and Alake to culminate at Kudroli temple on Thursday early morning.
Before the procession, several social workers were felicitated on behalf of the temple management.
Mayor Jayanand Anchan, Kudroli temple president H S Sai Ram, vice president Urmila Ramesh, treasurer Padmaraj and other dignitaries were present.
Folk art teams from various parts of the state were the cynosure at grand event.
