Mangaluru, Oct 7: The valedictory ceremony of Techno Week 2022 was held at St Sebastian hall on Thursday October 6, organized by Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) ACCE (I) Mangalore center in association with The Ramco Cements Limited.

Techno Week 2022 was inaugurated on September 15.

Addressing the gathering, Anbu Jayabalan, CEO of Eversendai – India, on the topic ‘Construction of Statue of Unity and composite structures – better way forward’ said, “The Statue of Unity is an engineering marvel. Every building has similarity, but in statues, every corner is unsymmetrical. It needs to be assembled, matched and a lot of procedures will be followed for the final result. It was executed under tremendous pressure as it came directly from the PM’s office. The head portion of the statue was very challenging to be made. We had completed the project without any incident. The time frame to complete the statue and fabrication was the biggest challenge.”

Speaking about the right product for right application, general manager technical, The Ramco Cements Limited, Anil K Pillai said, “Cement is not a commodity anymore. We have reached where it has turned into a customised product. We need to pay attention on durability of concrete.”

ACCE(I) Mangalore centre is stepping into 25 year of existence in January 2023.
