BJP Leader M M Joshi Reappointed PAC Chairperson

New Delhi, May 1 (PTI) Veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, who is at the centre of a controversy over the draft report on 2G scam, was today renominated as the chairman of Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, notwithstanding the raging row.

Joshi was again nominated by his party following which Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has reappointed him as chairman of PAC which is responsible for conducting the financial audit of various departments and ministries.

The term of the previous committee had ended yesterday. Joshi's reappointment will be effected from today and he will be the chairperson for one year.

The 77-year-old leader has been at the centre of major controversy after he circulated the draft report of PAC on the 2G scam.

He was attacked by the PAC members belonging to UPA who alleged that the report was prepared with "malafide intention" to defame and destabilise the Government

    No matter If joshi or whoever is the chairman, if the final report points fingers at MMS or PMO, then the report is destined to thrown to wastebin, then why simply this drama? The UPA has fielded well knit members and thy would not compromise on what they want in the report. Even the man of credential's Mr MMS could not do anything about corruption when it was running under his nose, then what is the sole purpose of this PAC.

    Why he as been appointed again, i guess he too is sailing in the same boat. Maybe he too is involed in these type of stealings that is why he had walked out last week.

    Same members and same institution,once discarded the proceeding and exited abruptly?then why again heading?UTSAVA MOORTHY?When issue comes of Corporate world,public servent and others you politicians gangs up against them and when the issue of politicians comes @fore you members differs on partyline!I am sorry there is no logic MM Joshi heady PAC under the circumstances anyway.Nothing but mockery of PAC.

    I don't understand why this CHOR has been appointed PAC Chief again after he himself leaked the Report. The Speaker has done a very wrong thig by again appointing Joshi.
