Mangaluru, Oct 8: “Prophet Muhammad Paigambar’s life was not bed of roses. His journey was filled with stones and thorns. His life was traversing in the society in which it was difficult to make out who is friend and who is foe. In midst of the social and political situation of that time, Prophet won the world on love, faith and belief facing hundreds of issues. His ideals are very much required to face the emergency situation of today’s India,” said former MLA and thinker Y S V Dutta.
Dutta was speaking in the symposium that was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind under the title ‘Let us know Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’ through Seerat campaign on the subject ‘Wellbeing of country: In the light of thinking of Prophet Muhammad’ which was held at Townhall in the city on Friday.
Dutta further said, “There are lot of similarities between the life and message of Prophet Muhammad and Basavanna. Multi-faceted Prophet also built a society of equality. All have to implement the values of the life of such Prophet in their lives. Through this let the days of beautiful without panic and suspicion.”
KPCC spokesperson Niket Raj Maurya said, “As the idea that messages of religion should not be confined to mosques, temples and churches, life of Prophet should not be limited to Muslims alone. His life should be everyone’s life. Those who know Islam in tits and bits are spreading false propaganda about the Prophet. Some, who have taken religion on contract are using Hinduism, Christianity and Islam only as words for their political gains. They are converting them as votes. So all have to wake up.
“It is not the work of religion to develop animosity between religions. On the contrary, religion should build bridges. We have to find solutions for important issues like unemployment, inequality, hunger and Poverty. The ideals of Prophet, Basavanna, Swami Vivekananda and Narayana Guru have to be understood and a strong India needs to be built,” he said.
Fr Clifford Fernandes, parish priest of Kulshekar Holy Cross Church said, “Life of Prophet Muhammad is a street light for us. Let us walk in the light shown by him. It is not enough if we hear Prophet’s words. It needs to be followed.”
Mohammed Kunhi, manager of Shanti Prakashana presented the subject. Dr Belgami Mohammed Saad, state president of Jammat-e-Islami Hind presided over the function.
