Kuwait: Mangaloreans Await First Open Air Event, 'Baila Fest'

Kuwait, May 2: Mangaloreans spread across Kuwait await for the first-ever Konkani open air event 'Mangalorean Day', 'Baila Fest being its highlight comprising thorough professional troupe led by none other than 'Vishwa Konkani Kalaratna' Baila King Eric Ozario.
The event is a maiden one for host 'Konkan Kalzam' scheduled at the Touristic Garden, Jleeb Al-Shyoukh, Kuwait here on May 6 from 3.00 pm onwards.
Apart from ethnic food, there will be fun-games starting at 3.30 pm followed by housie-housie at 5.30 pm. The special attraction of the day will unfold at 6.00 pm starring the Mandd Sobhann group from Mangalore headed singer-composer Baab Eric Ozario. The troupe will present a fast-paced, fun-filled, exuberant and exciting four-hour show of Baila music, titled ‘Baila Fiesta’. The Mandd Sobhann group will feature Joyce Ozario, Prakash D'Souza and Zeena Periera, all the way from Mangalore.
The visiting artistes will be supported by the highly talented local stars, former member of Mandd Sobhann singing troupe and popular singer in Konkani music Rony D'Cunha, Joy Fernandes, Ritesh Ozario, runner-up of 'Gulf Voice of Mangalore' Warren D'Souza and Wanisha Fernandes, thus spicing up the show. This is the first Baila show being organized in Kuwait and also the first Konkani programme being organized in the open-air.
Stany Alvares, well known compere from Mangalore, and regular member of Mandd Sobhann will compere the event.
‘Baila Fiesta’ will present 20 fast, jumpy, exciting Baila numbers, old popular Baila numbers and Baila masala towards the end. It will be an unforgettable evening of good, qualitative and feel-good music for all Mangaloreans.
