Kundapur, Oct 8: The long-standing demand of public to provide access to service road from NH 66 near LIC is finally done. Asphaltization work of service road is completed on Saturday. From now onwards commuters can enter Kundapur city from the highway directly. Kundapur assistant commissioner K Raju visited the spot.
From two years, protests were going on urging service road from highway to enter the city. MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty had done spot inspection earlier. He got the sketch of the national highway connecting road ready and discussed the same with MP Shobha Karandlaje and concerned officials.
Shobha Karandlaje got approval from NHAI for this work as per the information given by BJP youth leader Sunil Kumar Shetty Herikudru. However, there is no provision for anyone to enter the highway from the service road. A board prohibiting the same is installed at the entrance of service road.
BJP leaders have expressed gratitude to MP Shobha Karandlaje and MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty for providing the access to service road from NH 66.
