Mangaluru, Oct 9: The Court has convicted 12 of them accused in cases registered by the Lokayukta police of the city during the last one year.
The court has sentenced two years and three months of simple imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 15000 in the case against Mangaluru University assistant lecturer Dr Anita Ravishankar.
In the case against P B Shivaraj, city project officer of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), the court sentenced him to six years of simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 34 lacs.
Manjunatha Swamy, city project officer of MCC was sentenced to six years of simple imprisonment and fined Rs 35 lacs.
In the case against Chethan S Kolavi, court awarded three years and six months of simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000.
Office surveyor of Beltangady taluk office, T P Hiregowda was sentenced to two years and 15 days of simple imprisonment and fined Rs 5000.
M V Rajan Nambiar of Shaktinagar depot of food and civil supplies department was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment and fined Rs 75 lacs.
Assistant director of tourism department, U Jeethendranatha and computer operator Anusha were sentenced to seven years and three years of imprisonment respectively. They were also fined Rs 30,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
All these cases were decided in the year 2021.
