Bantwal: Mortal remains of missing woman found in Netravati river identified

Bantwal, Oct 11: The mortal remains of missing woman that was found floating in Netravati river is identified.

The deceased is Sumathi (52), wife of Sri Ranga Aithal, a resident of Kadri crematorium road in the city of Mangaluru.

The body was found floating on the morning of October 9 in Netravati river near SEZ plant under Bantwal rural police station limits. Senior member of Bantwal town municipality Govinda Prabhu, who saw the body, had brought the same to the notice of Bantwal police.

Police, who kept the mortal remains in the mortuary of Bantwal government hospital, had sent the photo of the same to all police stations for identification. The body was handed over to the family on October 10.

Sumathi went missing from her home on October 3. She neither informed anyone nor had left her mobile phone at home. A case was registered in Kadri police station.
