Mangaluru: Retired bank official cheated of Rs 11 lac in land deal

Mangaluru, Oct 12: Noel D'Cunha has in a complaint filed with the police said he has been cheated of Rs 11 lac on the pretext of getting his plot sold.

Noel who retired as a bank manager in Dubai got introduced to Agnelo Pereira through Nelson. Agnelo promised Noel that he would get his plot sold through Export Project and Development Pvt Ltd. After Noel returned from Qatar he was promised that he would get his land registered and so he paid Rs 11 lac to Agnelo.

In 2019 before the lockdown, Noel had returned to India who had requested people to show him the plot but the accused persons refused and cheated.

Fake records and documents were created and the plot was sold to some other person. Noel was threatened with death if he filed a complaint. A case has been registered in Mangaluru East police station.
