Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 12: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, October 12, reported one new coronavirus case while nine cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,093, out of which 20 are currently active. As many as seven patients were discharged on October 12.
No deaths were reported on October 12. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.16 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Nine coronavirus cases were reported on October 12. The total active Covid cases are 23.
A total of 10,90,784 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,680 have received both doses and 2,94,811 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported five cases while two each infections were reported from Karkala and Kundapur taluk. All nine cases reported were symptomatic.
