Udupi: House gutted in fire due to short circuit, goods worth more than Rs 1 lac destroyed

Udupi, Oct 13: A house caught fire due to short circuit on Wednesday October 12 at Vivekanandanagar of Parkala Eshwaranagar here.

The house got gutted due to the fire and goods worth more than Rs 1 lac including home appliances such as television, fridge, sofa, beds among other items got destroyed in the fire incident.

None of the inhabitants were at home when the fire broke out. They got wind of the fire from their neighbours.

The fire fighting personnel doused the fire.

Local CMC members visited the house to oversee the rescue operations.
