Mangaluru, Oct 13: A foreign tourist rescued a person who had fallen off into the sea at Rudrapaade near the Someshwara beach.
The person who was rescued is Praveen Chettiyar (41), who lives in a rented house near the Someshwara railway station. The foreign tourist who rescued Praveen from drowning in the sea is identified to be Adam of Sweden.
On Wednesday in the afternoon, when Praveen was taking a stroll at the Rudrapaade near the Someshwara beach he accidentally fell off into the sea. The Swedish national Adam who was engaged in fishing activity immediately jumped into the sea and rescued Praveen.
Adam also provided some first aid treatment to Praveen who looked unwell and disturbed following the incident and was later admitted to Wenlock Hospital here.
The locals and the police personnel were all praise for the Swedish national Adam for rescuing Praveen.
Adam has been on a tour of India since the last one and a half months. He has since visited Chennai and other beaches including Mangaluru and had arrived at the Someshwara Beach.
