Gadag, Oct 13: "I swear on my father. Siddaramaiah will not become chief minister (CM)," predicted state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel at the BJP Janasankalpa Yathre here on Wednesday, October 12.
Speaking here after inaugurating the Yathre, Kateel said if Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar are two doors, Mallikarjun Kharge has been appointed as the third door and so Siddaramaiah is unlikely to don the CM's post. "Rahul Gandhi should have started a Congress Jodo Yathra instead of the Bharath Jodo Yathra," Kateel said.
Taking a dig at Siddaramaiah's reign as chief minister, Kateel said drugs and ganja were available in government schools during his regime. The teachers and PSI scam took place during Siddaramaiah's regime. Besides, Siddaramaiah got caught in Arkavathi project and today there is a Lokayukta case against Siddaramaiah, he said.
Kateel said Siddaramaiah should have been jailed then but only Shivakumar landed in Tihar jail.
Kateel alleged that Congress was responsible for rise in terrorism activity. He said Congress is the grandfather of corruption and that Sonia, Vadra, Rahul Gandhi and D K Shivakumar are all out on bail.
Kateel said it was during Indira Gandhi's regime that terrorism was born. But, he said during Narendra Modi's reign terrorism has been contained. Congress had turned India into a beggar's country during its 60 years of rule, he said adding that BJP has taken to greater heights that the whole world has turned around. He said Modi acted responsibly in ensuring the safe return of students to India from Ukraine by seeing to it that Russia and Ukraine stopped attacking each other for six hours.
