Udupi: Car crashes into four vehicles in Uchilla, one person hospitalized

Kaup, Oct 13: Four vehicles were completely damaged after a speeding car hit them. The incident took place at Uchilla near Anafi Masjid on NH 66.

A speeding Scorpio car driver moving from Mangalore to Udupi had hit two bikes in Yermal national highway and had escaped. Later the same vehicle crashed into an Ertiga car and another scooter parked near the Anafi Masjid. Due to the impact, the Ertiga car rolled down and crossed the divider and landed on the other side of the national highway.

A scooter rider is seriously injured and has been shifted to a hospital. Both the cars have been severely damaged in the accident.

K C Poovaiah, circle inspector, Sreeshaila Muragood, SI , from Kaup and Purushottam, SI Padubidri and police officers arrived on the spot and are investigating.

    Not even a day pass of without the news of an accident. We need to monitor speed of vehicles in highways and there should be regular monitoring of speed on highways as well as strict monitoring of drunken driving. We can can not afford to loose more live son our highways
