Mangaluru: Woman submits signed cheques for loan application, cheated of Rs 2.45 lac

Mangaluru, Oct 14: A woman was cheated of Rs 2.45 lac as per a complaint registered with Mangaluru East police station.

The woman identified as Shilpa Punja had submitted blank signed cheque leaves as security for obtaining a loan. She had submitted cheque leaves from her IDBI Bank to apply for a loan from Mangaluru Souharda Cooperative Ltd.

The manager and three others withdrew cash from Shilpa's account using the signed cheque leaves given by her as a security measure.

One of the accused identified as Prajwal Joel Fernandes withdrew Rs 50,000 while Ratan Kumar took away Rs 99,000 in cash and Ashraf Khadar withdrew Rs 96,500 in cash and cheated the woman as per the case registered.

Cheating started with 15lakhs promise...............Here all three religion people cheated her together............We can see EMPLOYMENT with SAB KA SAATH , SABKA VISHWAS and SABKA VIKAS also...................... !!!!     Moral lesson of this incident is don't keep more cash in your account of which one issues cheques to any financial companies. Keep your money in another account & transfer only required cash to this account every month when instalment is due. But the incident needs to be probed whether they had first transferred the money to her account & withdrew it making her a debtor in the process.

    Yes. Even for debit card have a seperate bank account with little balance .Do not have a credit card because even if you have no balance, you still have liability..
