Beltangady: Police arrest two while smuggling ganja

Belthangadi, Oct 14: Acting on a tip-off, the police officials have arrested two persons while smuggling ganja in a three-wheeler goods vehicle traveling from Guruvayankere towards Naravi.

Police found the accused while checking vehicles in Udayagiri, Tenkakarandoor of Belthangady taluk and arrested them.

The accused are Mohammed Ashraf (34), a resident of Ashraf Manzil, Ayisha Apartment, Manjeshwara Manchapady Kodi House, Varkady village and Abdul Latif K (36) living in front of Fathima School Pavoor quarters, Manjeshwara, Varkady, Kasaragod district.

Police have seized 805 grams ganja worth Rs 30,000 and a vehicle used to smuggle worth Rs 2,00,000 (KA-19, AD-1648).
