Kasargod: Banned pan masala found in onion bags, police seize Rs 24 lac worth goods

Kasargod, Oct 16: Kasargod police have arrested two persons for illegally transporting banned pan masala products valued at lacs of rupees and seized the consignment.

The arrested persons are Udayachandra and Abdul Lateef.

The two accused had hidden the banned substances in the pick-up van that was carrying onions. When the police conducted a search, they found the banned substances being transported illegally.

Onions were packed in plastic bags and stored in the gunny bag and the police found the pan masala to be hidden in the gunny bags between the onions. About 60,000 packets of pan masala valued at Rs 24 lacs were seized by the police.
