Mandya (K R Pet), Oct 16: Lashing out at former AICC President Rahul Gandhi for his statement that only people having money will get jobs in Karnataka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said details of corruption during the Congress regime will be sent to him along with full statistics.
Talking to reporters at Ambigrama Helipad in KR Pet of Mandya district before proceeding to a function on Sunday, he said Rahul may be having selective amnesia or the State Congress leaders not briefed their leader properly.
The corruption in recruitment that took place during the Congress regime has never happened in any other state, he said.
Bommai said his government has ordered inquiry into leakage of question papers pertaining to the recruitment of police constables and PU exams. Details of the probe will be sent to Rahul.
“Let him see the amount of corruption during his party ruling and then talk,” the chief minister said.
Reacting to Leader of Opposition in State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah's statement that the Congress Party will come back to power, Bommai said in 2018 that his party would come to power 100 cent percent. But what happened? The total number of seats won by the Congress Party came down to 79 from 127.
“The former Chief Minister had said both B S Yediyurappa and H D Kumaraswamy would not become the Chief Ministers and both of them served ruled for one term. We will request Siddaramaiah to repeat it as it will help BJP,” Bommai taunted.
Rs 10 lac to Malavalli victim’s family
The chief minister later participated in the Sri Malaimahadeshwara Kumbh Mela and announced that the family of the raped and killed girl in Malavalli would be provided with a compensation of Rs 10 lac.
The entire society is shocked at the Malavalli incident, he said such incidents should not happen in any civilized society. He said the police have been directed to vigorously pursue the investigation and bring the culprits to justice so that the inhuman perpetrators are punished.
