Bantwal: Lightning strikes home, elderly woman injured

Bantwal, Oct 16: An elderly woman was injured after a lightning struck her Paledamara home in Vamadapadavu of Bantwal taluk while she was sleeping.

Due to the incident, the house got completely damaged and a huge loss has been incurred. The woman was later admitted to a hospital.

Lightning struck Sathish Sherigar's residence who is suffering from cancer. Due to the incident, electric wires of his home got completely burnt. A crack has appeared on the wall due to the incident.



Sathish's mother Baby was injured in the incident and was admitted to the Bantwal government hospital where she is undergoing treatment. There were five people at their home when the lightning struck.

The people who were sleeping in the house included Sathish's sister Shobha, brother Kishore, wife Jalajakshi and Sathish's daughter Rishika. All of them are reported to be safe.

    Very sorry.It meets always the small one or who struggle in life for daily normal life.Hope they will get some help from Govt.Hope house will be repaired soon.
