Udupi: Police seize drugs worth Rs 20,745, peddler arrested

Udupi, Oct 17: A drug peddler was arrested by the police at Seshadrinagar main road near Herga.

The arrested accused is Raghavendra Devadiga (41), a resident of Kadiyali.

Raghavendra was selling the banned MDMA powder and the police recovered 4.61 grams of the banned substance. The police also confiscated a scooter, a mobile phone handset, weighing machine, a bag, some small plastic covers that were being used to pack the powder and Rs 2,300 in cash.

Raghavendra confessed that the MDM powder was handed over to him for selling by accused Imran.

The seized MDM powder was worth Rs 20,745 and the value of all the items seized is worth Rs 59,545.

CEN police have registered a case.

    Not just the drug sellers but the suppliers also should be caught. Manipal has an overbearing drug menace with many students and locals succumbing to it. People must become vigilant and organize neighborhood watches. Udupi is a cultural heritage and that must be preserved for our next generation.
