Udupi, Oct 19: World's largest passenger flight Airbus A380 owned by Emirates made its historic landing at the new terminal of Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport on Friday, October 14. The successful test flight was flown by pilot Sandeep Prabhu of Udupi.
Sandeep is second son of Aleooru Aarathi Prabhu and Shivaraya Prabhu and he has been flying planes for the last 15 years. He had obtained pilot training in the Philippines and had completed advanced training in France. Later, he joined Dubai-based airline Emirates as a pilot.
Earlier, he had successfully flown the same flight and had landed at Mumbai. After landing in Bengaluru, Sandeep Prabhu had addressed the passengers in Kannada on flight and had surprised the passengers onboard.
The second terminal of the Bengaluru airport has been dedicated to the world which will see flights operating to 30 countries.
Starting October 30, Emirates will fly Airbus A380 flights daily between Bengaluru and Dubai.
For pilot Sandeep Prabhu who currently lives in Dubai, Bengaluru will become his second home.
