Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 20: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, October 20, reported five new coronavirus cases while three cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,128, out of which 24 are currently active. As many as three patients were discharged on October 20.
No deaths were reported on October 20. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,861.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.33 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Three coronavirus cases were reported on October 20. The total active Covid cases are 16.
A total of 10,90,789 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,760 have received both doses and 2,95,389 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported three cases.
