Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 22: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, October 22, reported four new coronavirus cases while two cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,138, out of which 24 are currently active. As many as one patient was discharged on October 22.
No deaths were reported on October 22. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,861.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.59 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Two coronavirus cases were reported on October 22. The total active Covid cases are 22.
A total of 10,90,802 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,963 have received both doses and 2,97,012 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported two cases which were symptomatic.
