Udupi: Mini truck jumps over divider, rams into car, overturns – One injured

Udupi, Oct 31: A car driver sustained injuries as a mini 709 truck carrying ice, jumped divider near Beedu on NH 66 and hit the car and overturned.

The driver of the mini truck that was transporting ice from Udupi to Baikampady lost control of the vehicle and jumped the divider and hit the car that was coming towards Udupi. After colliding with the car, the mini truck overturned.

The car got completely mangled in the collision and the driver received scratches on body. Fortunately, the airbag of the car came into play due to the collision. The car driver got treated at private hospital at Padubidri.

A complaint in this regard is filed at Padubidri police station.

    There are insulation panels available which reduce the rate at which the ice melts. The govt must make these insulation panels mandatory in the vehicles so that the amount of ice used is reduced thereby bringing in savings to the amount of electricity used. Additionally with these panels being used, the vehicles need not be driven rashly.

    Reckless driving by usual suspects....not bothered about others safety.there should be strict enforcement of speed regulators on all heavy vehicles and buses and heavy fines and imprisonment.... Lucky that the innocent motorist escaped without major injury...will these jokers give back life?

    Over speeding is the root cause of accident here. It was carrying ice and probably was in a hurry. Drive slow I request all to drive slow Luckily no one was seriously injured, please be careful when you are driving. Speed thrills but shall kill
