Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Oct 31: KSRTC has decided to change the rules of luggage on buses. Earlier, a pet dog was considered as an adult and full charges were applied. However, in future only half charges will be taken.

Passengers had urged the transport corporation to reduce the ticket fare. Accordingly, KSRTC has taken this decision. Pet dogs can be carried in general Vegadootha and city outskirt buses.

Similarly restrictions have been put on carrying luggage in buses. Every passenger is allowed to carry 30 kilos of luggage. Above this limit, additional charges will be levied.

KSRTC has also come up with premium less insurance coverage for its employees in association with State Bank of India. This is applicable on personal accidents. If the policyholder dies, their dependents will get Rs 50 lac as compensation. If the staff gets permanently disabled due to the accident Rs 20 lac will be given as compensation and partial disability will get Rs 10 lac in compensation.

The specialty of this insurance is that the insurance is applicable on and off duty personal accidents. For plastic surgery related to accidents a compensation of maximum Rs 10 lac will be given and if person dies in coma Rs 50 lac will be given. In addition, Rs 2 lac and Rs 10 lac will be given for air ambulance.

If a KSRTC staff dies in accident, their children will get a maximum of Rs 5 lac for degree education and Rs 5 lac as financial aid for the marriage of the girls. KSRTC divisional controller of Mysuru said that this is a good scheme that the organisation is implementing in cooperation with SBI.
