Mangaluru: Aam Aadmi Party holds padayatra, new office inaugurated

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Nov 1: The Aam Aadmi Party of Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, November 1 organised a Padyatra from Pumpwell to Balmatta. Later, Michial D'Souza along with other dignitaries inaugurated the party office at Souza Arcade.

Addressing party workers at Don Bosco Hall, well-wisher of the party Michael D'Souza said, "Aam Aadmi Party is the only party which is non-corrupt. You can find corrupt politicians in all other parties but no corrupt politicians in the Aam Aadmi Party. The purpose of the party is only service to the public. If people come forward and give power to the Aam Aadmi Party, we can improve the present political system. There is no discrimination in the party. We should eradicate corrupt politics for the betterment of future generations. If we work hard honestly, it will lead us in the right direction. In the coming days, Aam Aadmi Party will form a government. It should be a movement for the good of future generations and a better India."

State president of Aam Aadmi Party Prithvi Reddy, said, "When we held a meeting a few months ago in the city, there were very few people. But, today we have got a good response for the padayatra and several people are ready to accept the party. We should take an oath that we will make the system injustice and corruption-free ."

He also added that every child should get education.

"We are not here to do politics but we are here to change the politics. If the party comes to power we will work for the people with zero percent commission," he added.

He also said that the administration of Aam Aadmi Party had helped the people save money for various causes. Stating that the Aam Aadmi Party had given qualitative education to children in Delhi, he took a dig at BJP leader Amit Shah.

"Due to corruption, the development works done are of substandard quality. This will affect the general public. Aam Aadmi Party will not fight with money and muscle power but with people's power," he said.

He also called upon the party workers to give time for the party. He also stated that the party will come to power in Gujarat and the party will grow in Karnataka and give justice to the people of the state.

Narayana Prabhu, a resident near the Central Market explained the plight and how he was facing a water problem. Though the corporator was informed there was no proper response. Later, the Aam Aadmi Party worker helped him to solve the problem., he said

District president of Aam Aadmi Party Santhosh Kamath said, "We should work with commitment and conviction towards building the party. Through the padayatra we have shown our strength. In the upcoming elections, we will make an effort to win at least two seats in the district."

He also added that in upcoming days he will tour the entire district to bring the party to power. He also called upon party workers to spend little time on building the party.

Purshotham welcomed. Party's national committee member Ashok Edamale, state joint secretary Vivekananda Salins, Vijaya Vittal Shetty and others were present.

AAP Women's wing leader Bennet Navita Moras thanked.

All the best to AAP. Tired of the same old Ragas of BJP and Congress. AAP will be a refreshing change. Talking about health, education and civic amenities . I strongly feel many from both the parties congress and bjp will want to vote for Aap. But they have to stay in the news all the time raising relevant issues

AAP is damaging Congress prospects. Whom to blame? The Congress never learnt its lesson, They never groomed grass root level workers and young blood to take the party forward. AAP and BJP have started recruiting youngsters and given them chances to perform. But Congress is still hanging on to old guns despite losing home constituencies . Just imagine one leader was given 6 chances to contest despite losing back to back. 30 years have gone waste. The other parties meanwhile went from strength to strength and consolidated their position. There are so many young leaders in DK congress, capable to garner thousands of votes, but they are just phamplet bearers and foot soldiers for the past 2-3 decades. Youngsters from other parties who joined later have become ministers. But all we know is to blame BJP, EVMs , RSS. The new party AAP has taken full advantage of this.

You have to introspect and be pragmatic. RaGa has been a consummate loser ever since he took the reins of Congress, or had it thrust upon him. Born with a silver spoon and pampered by illicit wealth from rampant corruption of the Bofors kind, he has been used to luxurious living and empty adulation by sycophants who fattened on the droppings of the Nehru-Gandhis. For RaGa leadership and ownership of all he surveyed was a given and he made the mistake of actually believing that the PM's chair was his birthright too. After leading Congress into defeat after defeat with gimmicks like wearing a sacred thread in one state and a skull cap in another, winking in Parliament and hugging the PM inside and calling him 'chor' outside he has lived the sobriquet Pappu and is almost single handedly destroyed the mighty Congress and confined it to the fringes of the political landscape. The yatra will help him for sure because there is no level lower to fall for him and his party so the direction can only be up. But at whose cost? That is the question!

Readers, really interesting to observe that AAP has vehemently destroyed the INC.. No opposition netas from TMC, TRS, and others will give any leeway to the ailing grand old party... BJP is watching this acrimony with glee, as their vote banks are secure beyond any shred of doubt.. This development will certainly be the ultimate deat knell for the Congress in Karnataka !!!

Aam Admi Party (AAP) started on good anti-corruption platform and also been secular in its approach. But, recently we are seeing it slip and trying to woo people on religious ground for Gujrat elections. If it slips further, there will not be any difference between AAP and other political party. At a local level, corruption is a not an big issue. This is despite 40% commission narrative of the congress. This does not effect the common man who is more concerned about governance, civic issues, employment etc. To be a good alternative to BJP or Congress, AAP should come up with solutions or policies to provide better governance for people. Before hitting big, AAP should try to win local body elections to create a base for itself. It can only be done by working with people at a ward level and taking up causes. Sloganeering and narrative setting won't work much in place like Dakshina Kannada.

Topi drama. This party is just trying to be third option. It does not have serious agenda. Picture of God in currency notes and coins? Are you serious? All IITians went abroad and are doing well - and few who stayed behind also. One outlier stayed behind to bring shame to IITs as an institution of national importance. Now, he has made mockery of Delhiites also while all the while he was competing with his ill-defined contemporary who is popular on TV....Kapil Sharma. Both believe in insult based humor.

The first and foremost agenda of AAP is bringing down the corruption from 40% to 0% in all sectors. AAP members are not only honest politicians, but also social workers who work for the people. The party does not discriminate by the caste or religion which is very much needed for the harmony in the nation. Without change, there is no progress. - A well wisher.
