Apex court Slams Judge for Superseding its Order

New Delhi, May 10 (IANS) The Supreme Court Tuesday slammed Additional District Judge Archana Sinha for superseding its order in an eviction decree and asked the chief justice of the Delhi High Court to enquire into the matter.

Judges Markandey Katju and Gyan Sudha Misra took offence to Sinha passing a detailed order which frustrated the apex court order directing the vacation of premises in the Connaught Place area of the capital.

While directing the enquiry against Sinha, the court quashed the order passed by her.

The apex court said a large section of subordinate judiciary was engaging in activities that were bringing a bad name and disrepute to the entire judiciary.

The court also pulled up the senior counsel who appeared for the tenant, supposed to vacate the premises, for not performing their duties as officers of the court and tendering correct advice to their client to obey the court's order both in letter and spirit.
