Mangalore: Chief Conspirator of Ramakrishna’s Murder Planned to Flee Country

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, May 11: Dr Renuka Prasad, son of the founder of KVG Group of Institutions, Kurunji Venkataramana Gowda, was admitted into the government Wenlock Hospital here, as he complained of health complications. Dr Prasad, who is said to be the brain behind the conspiracy hatched to eliminate KVG Medical College administrative officer, A S Ramakrishna, is under judicial custody now.

In the meanwhile, Vaman, the other accused in the case, has succeeded in remaining elusive. Among the other four, who are arrested, three have been handed over to police custody, and Manoj Rai, to judicial custody.

It is learnt that Dr K V Renuka Prasad had planned to flee to New Delhi after meeting an advocate from Madikeri, who also is said to have played a role in the murder plan, on May 8. The policemen have confiscated a flight ticket Dr Prasad had bought to fly to New Delhi from Bangalore. The advocate in question is said to have told Dr Prasad that eluding arrest is the only way left, and had suggested him to shell out money to the police in case they trace them before he fled from here. The policemen are yet to take a firm decision on whether to name this advocate as an accused in the case, as they want to implicate him only after arresting Vaman and interrogating him. The policemen have also come to know that Nagesh, an accused in the case, had been provided with a job at the farm house of Dr Prasad by this advocate. However, the policemen arrested Dr Prasad before he could leave Madikeri after meeting the advocate on May 8, and foiled his plans. It is also said that he had also thought of flying out of the country if the situation so warrants, from his hide out in New Delhi.

While the policemen had definite clues about the involvement of Dr Renuka Prasad in the murder since the very beginning, they wanted to be cautious as he belongs to a powerful family. The department kept a close watch on the incoming and outgoing calls on the mobile and landlines of Dr Prasad, it is learnt.

Sources claim that the advocate stated above has connection with several hired killers, and that he had played a role in several killings in the past. They are also looking into the possibility of the involvement of many others with the case. A detailed investigation and interrogation of suspected people will throw more light on the case in course of time, the sources added.

I had studied in KVG institution 14 years ago and i am also aware of developments happened later, It is really sad to hear this incident, Kurunji family is known for their service to society. One should also read the comments by sunil and KVG-alumini and its true, Dr. Renuka prasad also worked hard in this institution for serving people and students without having any ego. Problem starts only when an external person enjoys more power and make money by splitting family.

Indeed it is a SAD story for me and who knows real story there. The bloody AO Mr. Ramakrishna eaten up almost 10 million (10 crore Indian Rupees) money by creating havoc between KVG Sons. He has played lot of game to eat KVG brother’s money and finally he paid tax for the game what he had played. As I know, 100% of Sullia population who knows the betrayal game played by AO (Mr. Ramakrishna) and no one have sympathy for him. Of course, people have soft corner for his family but this punishment for him where he has played lot with KVG family. In brief, how can one normal lecturer can buy 2.5 crore property and over 5 crore bank balance.

I liked the comments of KVG alumni, sullia. While I am very much sympathetic to the deceased and his family and wish the maximum punishment for the killers (especially the contract ones), I feel that outsiders should not take sides while deciding on someones family matters. I remember Anil Ambani blaming Mukesh Ambani's friend (forgot his name) for all the problems he had had with his brother. All youngsters who take up high positions in life after your MBAs etc., take some lessons from such real life incidents, which you normally do not get in your text books. You might be highly intelligent and informative but the real wisdom lies in knowing how to apply it in your day to day life. I read that the decased Mr. Ramakrishna was an upright and intelligent person but had he been little wise he would have played safe in the tussle between the brothers.

I have studied in one of the KVG institutions decades ago (20 years ago) and with this, I greatly admire KVG family for showing great leadership in developing rural Sullia and bringing Sullia to the national map. I believe that the educational institutions KVG started have changed economics of Sullia and impacted positively for entire district and helped even temple towns. With this, I am sad to hear/read this story and that too, to learn that the KVG family member is in the center of this case.
I believe killing someone is extreme step and should not be condoned. I also believe that it must be stupid act from Dr. Renukaprasad part to score a point by orchestrating killing someone if Dr. Renukaprasad is really a mastermind. However, I also think here is a lesson for third parties who poke their nose into someone else’s family matter. I have read, and heard about fights between brothers for property and fights getting escalated because of third party involvement. But this case seems to be direct answer to those third parties. I am not here to condone the crime, but I really see a lesson that third parties need to learn from this, especially who poke their nose unnecessarily.
One other lesson here is, it makes me assume that money speaks in this case, on part of all parties including the diseased and police. This is a sad chapter in Sullia’s book.

That's pure arrogance of being rich and powerful..and the gowdas in sullia can do anything and get away with it..after all they have been shelling money to previous govts since early 80's..also the students were given money to attend political rallies in manglore puttur etc..good work police..I believe it might have become difficult to mask him..

I don't quite understand the psyche or the maturity of many people who comment on news item like this one. If the police catch the culprits then blame the government for the crime. If the police don't catch the culprits then also blame the police and the government for not being effective. I think most of these people should get a life and let the law enforcement do their job.
