Beltangady, Nov 4: Shweta Reddy, a young woman hailing from Hyderabad tendered an apology to Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala Dr D Veerendra Heggade and offered a penalty to Lord Manjunatha in Dharmasthala temple after her comments on Daiva Mukhavarnike in the film Kantara had become controversial in the social media.
Shweta Reddy's comments on Daiva Mukhavarnike in the film Kantara had received a lot of flak in the social media just like the Daiva's role in the film.
Shweta Reddy tendered an apology to the Dharmadhikari and took his blessings on November 3.
Reacting to the row, Shweta said she was unaware of the facts. She said she had thought that the Yakshagana attire for the role and the Daiva Mukhavarnike were the same. She said she realised that they were not the same after the comments that she had made had received a lot of criticism. She said she wished to apologise to all the Daivaradhakas and the people of the coastal districts where this practice is prevalent and practiced.
