Kundapur, Nov 7: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday, November 7, laid foundation stones and inaugurated various projects to be undertaken by Udupi district administration at Kundapur.
“State BJP government has decided to provide free 75 units of electricity to SCs/STs, increase their reservation quota and hand over six lac hectares of land out of nine lac hectares to the revenue department to solve the deemed forest issues.
Highest funds will be allotted for the development of ports here in the next budget. A sum of Rs 10 crore will be released to spray pesticides to prevent the spread of disease to areca nut plantations,” he said.
“The government has attracted Rs 9.3 lac crore capital in the recently concluded global investor’s meet. A sum of Rs 2 lac crore is being invested in Mangaluru, Udupi and Karwar. The Vidyanidhi scheme has been started for farmers’ children which will be extended to the children of daily wagers and fishermen. A sum of Rs 28,000 crores has been set aside for SCs and STs. The government plans to open 100 Ambedkar hostels across the state and 50 hospitals in the name of Kanakadasa. It plans to construct a student's hostel for 1,000 students in Mangaluru,” he said.
Former chief minister B S Yediyurappa said that the BJP government will get re-elected in the state in 2023. Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty also spoke.
